  I bought an engagement setting from this store in 07-2015. My wife already had the center stone (family heirloom) She loved the setting and the ring looked great when we took it home. I needed to get the ring appraised for insurance purposes, Jewelry Exchange in Villa Park, IL does not do appraisals. I took it to another jewelers that does appraisals. When I picked the ring up, the jeweler advised me of a small hole in the setting. He pointed it out and stated that there is no way my wife could have caused the damage and that is was a manufacturers defect. I went to the Jewelry Exchange with my wife and showed it to the jewelers there, who also agreed this wasn't damage caused by my wife. They sent it to their corporate office to be looked at. I received a call today from them, the employee explained to me that they would not fix the ring free of charge because it has been over a year since I purchased it. I explained that we didn't know the damage was there until a professional jeweler notified us of the hole and that it is not something a consumer would find on their own. Although the employee agreed with me, she advised that they would not fix the setting free of charge. I will not use them to repair the damaged ring they sold me and I will never purchase anything from this store again. I would advise anyone that reads this to avoid this jewelry store. They will not stand by their products!
